Trail running is the bees knees.

After running only a few times in the last month due to my interior tibularis muscle in my left leg bothering me I had turned into the king of low impact exercising at the gym at school. Yeah it felt good to be able to exercise without aggravating my injury, but oh my is exercising inside at the gym the most boring thing ever! Ever!!! Doing an hour on the ellyptical at the gym is so mind numbingly tedious, especially when its 25 degrees out and sunny. It's shirtless running weather and I'm inside.

Last week I went for short run outside on the flat pavement and it felt good, made sure I iced and stretched super good after. Woke up the next day still feeling good in my legs. So a couple days later I went for another morning run of only 6 km, and felt good again. So fast forward to today (with daily trips to the gym in between) and I decided to do a longer run.

Heavenly! I parked my car at a park, figured I would stay on trails so it was easier on my legs. Run on the greenway along Mission Creek, stayed on the flat for the first 13 km, which was nice to start. The sun was shining, nothing but my shoes and running shirts. This is how I like to run. For the last 4 km I hit some easy trails across the creek. And I pushed hard, love it.

Now I just need to remember to take it easy and not go out for a run that long every day while my ant. tib. is still recovering. Must not let my excitement get the best of me.
