This wasn't the first snow runs of the year, but last week I only had one and then it was muddy and melted by the weekend, and this week is was pretty much all snow.
Mon: no run
Tue: 9.8 km; 55 minutes; 366 metres elevation gain. Half trail and half road. Ran up to peterson creek park and ran down tom moore trail then did some exploring on the neighbourhoods roads. I like running down tom moore trail, not super steep but steep enough to run fast and hard and winding and then you hit the cliffside and it feels a little dangerous.
Wed: not sure why; but I felt really shitty all day and didn't feel like running. So I was lazy. It's amazing how I can easily rationalise taking an extra rest day on easy weeks.
Thur: 8.6 km; 54 minutes; 325 metre elev gain. Kenna cartwright group run.
Fri: no run
Sat: 15.3 km, 114 minutes; 576 metre elev gain. Running in pineview valley and sugarloaf mountain with c. C showed me some areas I hadn't been to, I can connect enough areas to get in at least a 3 hour loop within city limits. Lots of snow, a little difficult in spots as there was a sheet of ice in many spots under the powder. The area around my house seems to be covered in fog a lot in the mornings, it's quite surreal.
Sun: 20.1 km; 136 minutes; 640 metre elev gain. Pretty much the same run, except added in a bit of a loop in cattle grazing land. I did the exact same run as the day before, but by myself just to see if I could remember where we went and imprint it in memory. Being able to follow our footprints in the snow helped, except that was difficult in some well travelled areas.
