On the way back from Kennewick the idea of consistency in training came up with my mom. Up until October when I got a new job and moved I wasn't really able to be truly be consistent in my training. During school sessions class schedules would change every semester, and even within a semester from week to week depending on what was going on with school it affected how much free time you had. And working in restaurants, on the rare times when I managed a consistent schedule of days worked, the variety of business volume would often screw up my planned runs, often being too tired to go out and do what I had intended.
I work the same schedule every single week now, well other than the occasional overtime hour or two in a week when the boss wants. The work day is super easy on the body, and I can do the same thing every week on weekdays, and have the energy to challenge myself on the weekends. Consistently I can do this. It took until about two to three months of this to feel returns of this consistent training. It really makes it easier to plan out training.
Today's relaxing thought. Anticipation; that feeling when you are packing things up the night before a weekend excursion, getting tidied up so you can leave quickly after waking up, and your mind wanders to the beautiful places you shall go. It's good.
